Route 66 Motorsports in New Lenox, Illinois is proud to announce that the custom-built 1969 Chevy Camaro built under the name Project American Heroes II was auctioned off on Friday, April 10, at the 7th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car auction in Palm Beach, Florida raising an astounding $500,000 for The Armed Forces Foundation. It brought the highest selling price of any vehicle at this year’s event. The success of this year's sale was beyond our wildest dreams. We would like to congratulate the new owner of the Project American Heroes II 1969 Chevy Camaro. We hope that he will enjoy the car and we thank him for his generous contribution to the men and women of the Armed Forces Foundation. We would like to offer a special thank you to our talented employees who contributed their time and skill to build this beautiful automobile, Super Chevy Magazine, Ed Zinke, Jim Campisano and Joe Rode for choosing our shop to be a part of this wonderful project. We would also like to thank all the vendors who contributed parts to make this build possible. Everyone's contributions made this project a huge success. Thank you to all the men and women in our Armed Forces! God Bless America.
